the board which graces many a piazza in charleston, has made our porch here feel warm, welcoming + oh, so light-hearted + fun.
oh, what a happy sight– all those tomatoes just as delicate + tender as i dreamed they would be + fit to burst with a homegrown flavor you just can’t fake.
as the girls + i sat there on the joggling board in our jammies for a small time admiring the punchy wildflowers, i was reminded of the many times beautiful blooms have found their way onto our porch …
there is some magic in revisiting certain places as well, for even if they have changed over time, it can be as therapeutic as visiting an old friend.
…between their curling, repetitious petals + their vivid colors, it’s easy to see the way they reflect the cheery nature the sun is known for.
you don’t have to have a traditional porch at your dwelling to enjoy a peaceful porch view; it can often be found in nature.
now for more than one reason, i can’t wait to get back on a plane!
after i return home from a little time away, i really look forward to taking a moment to savor that first breakfast back at home on the porch— here everything seems brighter, a bit fresher + somehow…different.
