there will always be more flowers, when we are willing to do the good work of cultivating.
when we first started sharing posts here on the porch, the hope was to make it so all who would venture to this spot feel as though they were visiting right here with us! it’s been five years already + we’re looking forward to catching up with all of you
the ocean still roars there—ah, yes + mightily so.
i hope to one day return even if just to exchange another passing “hello”.
–look at that view! from seven stories up + however many blocks away, it was breathtaking.
where is the last place you felt warm? not only physical warmth, but even more, that general sense of wellbeing + ease. close your eyes for a moment to recall the place + particulars that last made you feel aglow with a sense of being cozy, comfortable, cared for, known + safe.
there is some magic in revisiting certain places as well, for even if they have changed over time, it can be as therapeutic as visiting an old friend.
you don’t have to have a traditional porch at your dwelling to enjoy a peaceful porch view; it can often be found in nature.
now for more than one reason, i can’t wait to get back on a plane!
