‘pressed while enjoying oreos dunked in ice cold milk “fresh from the grocery store” with my forever beau! If you know you know…
This has long been a favorite quote of mine! In a world that is full of trends + popularism, may we all be brave enough + stay the narrow path to being ourselves! This is what the world needs.
Each of us has been given a special role to play that no one else can. These words remind me of that in an instant + hope they help you shift your perspective today as well!
These words remind me of the exciting song, “Come Alive” from a movie recently in theaters, The Greatest Showman about P.T. Barnum + his journey to creating the circus. The entire song is loaded with great lyrics, but here is the beginning. Visit the link above to see + hear the rest!
You stumble through your days
Got your head hung low
Your skies’ a shade of grey
Like a zombie in a maze
You’re asleep inside
But you can shake awake‘Cause you’re just a dead man walking
Thinking that’s your only option
But you can flip the switch and brighten up your darkest day
Sun is up and the color’s blinding
Take the world and redefine it
Leave behind your narrow mind
You’ll never be the sameCome alive, come alive
Go and light your light
Let it burn so bright
Reaching up
To the sky
And it’s open wide
You’re electrified
Did you learn the song “This Little Light of Mine” as a child? What a vibrant + beautiful place this passing world could be if we help one another lift those bushel-baskets from hiding our lights! It starts with being Y O U, right now! Just as Dr. Suess said, “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.”!
If we can each be ourselves, who we are meant to be everyday one day at a time, I have a great hope for this life as we know it.
Thanks for sitting on “the porch” for a spell; it’s always a treat to share my thoughts with you! I would so love to hear yours too, please send them my way via comment below or via email at porchesandpillowfights@gmail.com. Have a good week
